One day, I will run out of things to buy. But today is not that day.

Because I've got a charming one right here.

Well, it's lunchtime and I'm casting about for options. One, obviously, is the microwaveable Healthy Choice thing I've got in the office fridge. Another is a 30,000 calorie sandwich:

It is glorious.

My fascination with the Japanese will never end. They're why I get up in the morning.
Why, you ask? Well, mostly because of this:

Ladies, just two cookies a day means a more boobilicious you!

You can't accuse the Japanese of not knowing how to live. Or how to kill themselves with food. Behold, the greatest pizza on God's green Earth: the Pizza Hut Japan Double Roll.

Across its landscape of deliciousness, you will find bacon-wrapped sausages, mini hamburger patties, mushrooms, soy beans, corn, garlic chips, green peppers, and pepperoni along with three kinds of cheese: mozzarella, chedder, and parmigiana. Add ketchup and maple syrup to taste.
All of a sudden, I find myself a bit peckish.

I am seriously considering investing $100,000 in recapturing a tiny, Steve Guttenberg-flavored fragment of my childhood.

I'm thinking of expanding my personal jewelry collection. Is nice, yes?

When I get a dog, I'm going to get it one of these to wear.

It's Kate's fault we had a great freakin' time during our weekend in San Francisco.

It was her enthusiasm for the Great Gorilla Run that got Travis, John, and I out to San Francisco. That and because the idea of running around San Francisco dressed like a gorilla went over like gang busters.
The run itself was on a foggy Sunday morning in Golden Gate Park. Something like 450 “gorillas” showed up. Most had decorated their costumes in someway. Elvis, barbarian, assorted athletic costumes, drag queen gorillas. Justin Timberlake. One group of a dozen or so dressed like guerilla gorillas. Another group came done up like the cast of Michael Jackson’s Thriller video and performed a choreographed dance.

Sure, I could have tried to run. But it’s hot in a gorilla costume. And you can’t see out of them. And because I wear a large in a gorilla costume and all they had left were extra large. It’s hard to run when you’re overheating, blind, and your costume’s crotch comes down to your ankles. Kate and John ran (at least, John ran until he made friends with people traveling with a supply of beer and vodka) while Travis and I had a more leisurely attitude toward the whole thing.
Not only did we dress like apes (not monkeys!), but we had the opportunity to see the city and some of the surrounding area. Our Saturday was spent driving up to Point Reyes, taking in the scenery, and drinking. And after spending Sunday morning at the run, we did touristy things along the waterfront and wandered the SFMoMA. And drank. On our last day in San Francisco we took a trip to the zoo to see real gorillas and demand their gratitude. There were many other animals there as well, but no alcohol.

Of course, the trip was a great opportunity for picture takin'. Myself, Kate, and Travis kept busy with our cameras (John had come without). I took almost as many pictures during three days in San Francisco as I did during two weeks in Europe. Of course, Kate's enthusiasm for hamming it up in front of the camera helped: “Kate and the Silly Hats,” “Kate Mounts the Zoo Statuary,” and “Kate On the Merry-Go-Round,” among others.
